Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Sonetto ("we", "us") for using Quartz at quartz.graphics (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

The Service is early

Quartz is in active development. Features may change, move between plans, or be removed, and things will sometimes break. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose.

Your account

Give us a real email address and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.

Your content

Your decks, slides, text, images and other files ("Your Content") belong to you.

You give us permission to store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to run the Service for you — for example, saving your decks, making slide thumbnails, syncing edits between your devices and showing a presentation to the people you share it with. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept briefly in backups.

You are responsible for Your Content and must have the rights to everything you upload.

Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright;
upload malware, or content that is sexually exploitative of minors, hateful, or harassing;
try to get into accounts, data or systems that aren't yours;
overload, scrape or disrupt the Service, or get around plan limits;
resell the Service without our written permission.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Plans and payment

The Basic plan is free and has the limits shown on our pricing page. We may change those limits, and we will give notice before a change reduces what you already have.

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly, through our payment provider, which acts as the seller of record and handles tax and invoices. Your plan renews until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for.

Payments are not refunded for partial periods, except where the law requires it.

Open-core

Parts of Quartz are open source under the Apache License 2.0. That licence covers the source code. These terms cover your use of the hosted Service at quartz.graphics. The 3D module is not open source.

Ending your use

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we need to for legal reasons. If we shut the Service down, we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your content.

Warranties and liability

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.

Apart from those rights, the Service is provided "as is", without promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, data or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or, where the Australian Consumer Law applies, to supplying the Service again or paying for it to be supplied again.
